CHILD WORKERS DIWALWAL GOLD MINING COMMUNITY
Young boys carry sacks of gold ores to bring to a ball mill for ore processing. Using mercury or cyanide, the gold is separated from the rock/raw ores to produce gold in this gold mining town. Diwalwal (or Mt. Diwata) is populated by roughly around 60, 000 people. Gold was discovered here in the early 80s. People started to flock this gold mine area, setting up tunnels, roads, karaoke bars, restaurants, and churches.
